On this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Sheamus squared off against GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship, in a rematch from that instant classic battle from Clash At The Castle.

The match ended in controversial fashion when Sheamus locked in a Cloverleaf on GUNTHER. However, in a bid to get out of the hold, GUNTHER tapped the mat two times. Many fans in attendance believed Sheamus won. However, the match continued. The end came after GUNTHER struck Sheamus with a shillelagh he received from Imperium stablemate Ludwig Kaiser.

Sheamus took to Twitter and reacted to the controversial finish, as he made it clear that Sheamus believed he was the true winner and that he was screwed out of a win.

Guntapper. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #screwjob

We will have to wait and see whether Sheamus will get another shot at GUNTHER’s title, as it is unlikely their feud is over just yet.
