Ever since signing with the WWE in 2012, Renee Paquette worked in a variety of on-screen roles within the promotion. She even became the first woman to become a permanent commentator on Monday Night RAW.
Paquette or Renee Young as she was known in WWE remained with the company until she left after SummerSlam 2020. After her departure from WWE, Renee hosted her own podcast called The Sessions.
Despite being away from wrestling since her WWE departure, rumors are starting to pick up that indicate that Renee could be heading to AEW.
According to reports from Fightful Select, sources within WWE believe that the former commentator could be heading to AEW.
“A WWE target could be heading to AEW, if they’ve heard correctly. Fightful was told by WWE sources on Friday night that they believe Renee Paquette is headed to All Elite Wrestling. Give Me Sport’s Louis has heard that WWE reached out to Renee about coming back to the company, which we’ve yet to confirm.
Fightful reached out to Renee and AEW, who have not confirmed the move at all. Paquette (Renee Young in WWE) spent nearly eight years (October 2012 to August 2020) in WWE, finishing up following WWE SummerSlam 2020. During her time with the company, she filled many roles including backstage interviewer, hosting, commentator on WWE Raw, and more.
She also hosted WWE Backstage, which aired on FS1. Since leaving WWE, Paquette started her own podcast The Sessions, which is part of Colin Cowherd’s The Volume network.
She recently filmed WWE content for A&E Network specials and joined the Cincinnati Bengals broadcast team for a new show entitled Renee All Dey. Paquette is married to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, who signed a five-year extension with AEW on October 7.”
AEW is notorious for signing former WWE Superstars. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they manage to sign Renee Paquette to the company. Only time will tell if they end up with another former WWE name in AEW, but this would make a lot of sense considering the fact that she’s married to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.
