Raquel Rodriguez was one of the highlights of NXT television, where she even became the NXT Women’s Champion. She was eventually called up to the main roster on Friday Night SmackDown. Rodriguez also commented on her title match against Ronda Rousey a few months ago.

On the May 13 episode of WWE SmackDown, Ronda Rousey issued an open challenge for her Smackdown Women’s Title. Rodriguez ended up answering the challenge and the two had a solid match.

Fans and peers alike were impressed by Raquel Rodriguez’s performance in the match. While speaking with “NBC Sports Boston,” Rodriguez reflected on her feelings prior to the match and admitted that she was nervous before the match.

“It was one of the most nerve-racking days, I would say I’ve had in a very, very long time,” Rodriguez said. “From the beginning of the day when I woke up until the end of the night, I was just on pins and needles, just excited … I was looking across the ring, you know, telling Ronda Rousey, ‘My name is Raquel Rodriguez,’ I was like, ‘Holy caca. This is the baddest woman on the planet and I’m about to go toe-to-toe with her … I could not have been prouder, I could not have been happier with everything that I gave in that match.”
