FTR is one of the most popular tag teams on the AEW roster. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have competed all over the world in numerous promotions, earning a name for themselves. FTR hasn’t wrestled in AEW for quite some time, which has been bothering fans as well. Tony Khan recently addressed the situation.

Tony Khan appeared for an interview with Comicbook.com and spoke about why FTR has been getting fewer tag team matches. He is fully aware that fans want to see them wrestle as a team rather than as singles. Khan also hinted that a big tag team match may be on the horizon.

FTR have wrestled as singles. They have had some trios and, of course, have had a number of pay-per-view matches in that time, both in Ring of Honor and in AEW. But I think we could look to see them in tag action and maybe defending some of those tag team titles that they hold.

They hold three different tag team championships in companies that we all have affiliations with, across Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Lucha Libre AAA. And certainly, I’ve been instrumental in organizing their bookings overseas and with Ring of Honor, where I also do the bookings.

FTR hasn’t wrestled in AEW since All Out where they teamed up with Wardlow against Jay Lethal and Motor City Machine Guns. The duo appeared on ‘Dynamite: Grand Slam’ to announce their intent to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Harwood also recently called out Khan for not booking them.
