Malakai Black was released from WWE back in June last year, after a very disappointing stint on the main roster. When he debuted in AEW the month after that, thanks to a paperwork mistake on WWE’s part, and fans were simply elated to see him there.
He was the leader of the House Of Black alongside Brody King and Buddy Matthews and found some mild success for a while. As previously reported, AEW has given a conditional release to Malakai Black, because of his own mental wellbeing.
However, Black then went on a rant on social media and claimed that he was not released from AEW. While speaking on Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell spoke about Black’s break from pro wrestling. He also expressed doubts over Black’s recent social media rant.
“Well they said he left, his partner left. So you can’t listen to anybody till they tell you and we don’t even know what he [Malakai Black] said was true. So we do have to wait and see.
Malakai Black especially became subject to rumors after WWE reportedly reached out to certain AEW talents. It’s been reported that he wanted to go back to WWE before his “release” and he already told a WWE superstar about wanting to return. We’ll have to see what will become of him in the end.
