Paige was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2017, disappointing fans all over the world.  She remained relevant in other roles for years after that, but she never competed again.

The first-ever NXT Women’s Champion left the company back in July after WWE decided not to renew her contract for some reason. Following a brief hiatus, she finally took the next step in her career.

Going as Saraya, she made her debut during AEW Grand Slam and utterly shocked fans. According to Fightful’s paywall, Saraya has agreed to a three-year contract with AEW.

Sources familiar with the situation tell Fightful Select that Saraya has agreed to a three-year contract with AEW. We are not sure if there are option years at play, as is often the case with AEW.

However, we’re told for the amount of money it was signed for “largely implies that she’ll be wrestling in some capacity.” We haven’t been given any indication of whether or not she’s been cleared, but she is set to speak on AEW Dynamite tonight.

Numerous talent within AEW had went to bat for Saraya and put in good words, but one AEW name said “she didn’t need it, since there was interest when she became available.” Those that we spoke to on the roster seemed excited about her joining the company

WWE also wanted to bring back Paige after Triple H took over. We’ll have to see what Saraya will have to say on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite. We have yet to receive any update on whether she is medically cleared to compete.
