CM Punk used to be one of the most beloved names in all of pro wrestling after he returned to the sport last year during AEW Rampage: The First Dance. Punk took part in memorable feuds and solid matches after that as well.
However, CM Punk’s reputation has taken a nosedive as of late. He went on a scathing rant during the AEW All Out media scrum, where he targeted Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks.
It eventually led to a backstage brawl between Punk, Ace Steel and the Elite, resulting in several people being suspended. While speaking on “Cafe De Rene, Fandango stated that he hopes CM Punk finds happiness after so much drama.
I hope he finds what he’s looking for and I hope he finds happiness. We used to be really close. I haven’t talked to him in years, I don’t know … I hope he finds happiness, man, I really do. You know, I don’t want anyone to be upset or tired or beat up.a seemed really unhappy,” Fandango continued. “I understand both points of view in that situation. I’m obviously not there, I don’t really know everybody, I don’t know the situation 100%. But I’m f***ing weird and old school … I don’t like guys f***ing hazing people or like, threatening people, but sometimes a little animosity backstage brings out some competitiveness in the locker room. You know what I’m saying? Because if there’s some guy that I have a little beef with, bro, and I’m working him, like, I’ll never stiff him, but I’m gonna try to outwork the motherf***er. I’m gonna try to have a better match than him.
Eric Bischoff also recently blasted CM Punk for being bitter and brittle. He will also be out of action for a long time, well into next year because of the injury. We’ll have to wait and see whether things in AEW will change soon or not.
