Drew McIntyre is certainly one of the top Superstars in WWE, and he clearly loves his profession. He won the WWE Champion twice and continues to be a beloved star. He is also thankfully feeling better now.
The Scottish Warrior has been engaged in a feud with Karrion Kross ever since the latter returned to WWE last month. On last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, McIntyre was confronted by Kross and Scarlett.
It also included a botched fire paper spot. As previously reported, McIntyre has been suffering from food poisoning. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Drew McIntyre is feeling better now.
He’s better in the sense — I don’t wanna say all the way better — but, he’s hopeful that he’ll be good enough to go to the gym tomorrow. He was able to eat food today, which I think is the first day he could. Unless there’s a relapse or something, he’s got mid-week media in San Antonio for the Royal Rumble. The thought is that he’ll be there and on TV and house show starting Friday. He’s a trooper for going to SmackDown on Friday. He was scripted into a big angle. It’s a real big deal for Karrion Kross, this thing. It’s not ‘make or break,’ but it’s the angle leading up to it and everything like this.
It is certainly worth giving a round of applause to McIntyre for gutting through the segment despite his condition. We’ll have to see how Drew will feud with Kross.
