Chris Benoit was one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He made his mark all over the world in various pro wrestling companies.
Chris Benoit worked very hard to finally make it to the top of the mountain in WWE. He defeated Triple H and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 20 to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a feel-good moment for fans and peers alike.
While speaking on the Kurt Angle Show, the WWE Hall Of Famer talked about his time working with Chris Benoit. Angle made it clear he won’t erase Benoit from pro wrestling.
“Oh, by the way. I did want to say this. I know that people don’t really care about me talking about Chris Benoit, but I’m not doing it for Chris Benoit. If I erase Chris Benoit, I’m going to erase most of my career,” said Kurt Angle. “And I’m not going to erase myself. So, a lot of people might not agree with me having this show today talking about Chris and everything. I don’t condone what he did outside the ring, but what he did in the ring was phenomenal, and I love the guy for that.”
Benoit’s legacy will forever be sullied due to his actions, which many people deem unforgivable. Regardless, his death brought about a lot of changes in WWE that remain intact to this day.
