Sammy Guevara Contemplated Quitting AEW Due To Fans Treating Him Like Cody Rhodes

Sammy Guevara has been one of the staples of AEW television since his debut back in 2019. In fact, he competed in AEW Dynamite’s first ever match where he was defeated by Cody Rhodes.

Last Wednesday, Sammy Guevara was unable to defeat Jon Moxley in the AEW World Title qualifier tournament. This was truly a shock for the Spanish God, who expected to win.

While speaking on his vlog, the Spanish God revealed that he had considered leaving the company due to all the fans treating him with contempt, the same way they did to Cody Rhodes.

“Maybe I should go away, maybe this is it for me. I had a nice ride, and maybe I need to go away to get y’all [fans] to appreciate me, ’cause that’s what you guys do. That’s what you did to Cody. While he was in AEW, you hated him and then he went to WWE and you guys love him now. So I thought in my mind man that maybe this is it for me. I am not even talking about, you know, going somewhere else. I am just tired, maybe I just need to take a break in general.”

It is unlikely Sammy Guevara will ever leave AEW, but crazier things have happened such as Cody himself leaving for WWE. We’ll have to see what Guevara will do in the end.
