Ric Flair finally got the opportunity to retire on his own terms back in July. The Nature Boy partnered up with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo and faced Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett on July 31st, 2022. Ric Flair recently said he didn’t like Sting’s Joker gimmick in TNA.
The WWE Hall Of Famer fought his final match with Sting in TNA. Flair also talked about some current wrestling events. Flair recently discussed a variety of topics in an interview with AdFreeShows.com. He expressed displeasure with Sting’s Joker persona in TNA.
I didn’t like it. That doesn’t mean it was bad. I’ve told him a hundred times, I like the Sting with the crewcut, the blonde hair, and the vest, and I always will. I understood the other thing because some guys want to change. Taker became biker Taker for a while. That’s when I worked with him. He’ll always be The Undertaker and Sting will always be Sting. He won’t be remembered as Joker Sting. I can tell you that. He’s still an icon. He is an icon. He’s an active icon.
Flair also discussed Ricky Steamboat coming out of retirement to have one final match. “I think it’s great. It’s one of those deals where nobody is ever going to be Ricky Steamboat, so you might as well just watch him when you can and enjoy the opportunity because there never will be another Ricky Steamboat. At any level, he’s better than 50% of the guys in the business today. He wouldn’t get in the ring if he wasn’t. He holds himself to a very high standard. I’ll imagine he’ll probably look better than the guys he’s in the ring with because he’s always in great shape.”
We will have to wait and see whether Ric Flair really will return to the ring or not. Crazier things have happened, so we can’t really discount the possibility. You may listen to the podcast below.
