Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley squared off for the vacant AEW World Championship in the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions Finals tonight on ‘Dynamite: Grand Slam.’ The match was bloody and barbaric as neither man wanted to leave the ring without the strap. Mox won the match with a sleeper.

Danielson and Mox had defeated Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara respectively to earn their spots in the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions Finals last week on Dynamite. Danielson picked up the strap to a huge pop from the crowd after the show went off the air.

Mox’s next title defense is expected to be against MJF at Full Gear in November. The Salt of the Earth won the poker chip during the Casino Ladder Match at All Out. Per Tony Khan, MJF can cash-in the chip at any AEW-sanctioned event. We’ll have to wait to find out.
