AEW has come a long way since its inception back in 2019. There have been a lot of changes since then, especially since last year. Tony Khan made an interesting claim recently as well.
The company will be holding their second Grand Slam event on AEW Dynamite this week. The show will be emanating from the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, and fans are certainly excited about it.
While speaking on News 12, AEW President Tony Khan claimed that the upcoming AEW Grand Slam event this week will be unlike anything they have done before.
“Yeah, big time. It’s gonna be really special. You don’t wanna miss this one. If there’s still opportunity for you to come Wednesday night and you’re a wrestling fan around New York, you do not wanna miss this. It is going to be, I believe, have you guys seen ‘Wayne’s World 2’? This is gonna be like my Waynestock. I’ve been through a lot lately, and we’ve gone through a lot. I’m telling you, it’s gonna come together, this is gonna like Waynestock. It’s gonna be that one perfect night in New York City this Wednesday night. Expect a lot, and you shall not be disappointed.”
The show is headlined by Bryan Danielson vs Jon Moxley to crown the new AEW World Champion in the main event. We will have to wait and see who will win in the end and whether Tony Khan’s claim will come true or not.
