MJF Confirms Signing New AEW Contract With No Extension

MJF worked hard to establish himself as one of the most controversial and talked about talents in a long time. The Salt Of The Earth is second to none when it comes to cutting a promo as well.

For many months, one of the hottest stories in pro wrestling was MJF wanting to get paid more money and not wanting to have his contract extended in AEW. He even cut a scathing promo on Tony Khan back in June, after which he disappeared.

MJF came back at AEW All Out and since then has been a highlight of AEW television. While speaking to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, MJF confirmed that he signed a new deal with AEW without any contract extension.

It’s still January 2024. If you watch the NFL, I do believe there’s a guy who was in a similar situation who felt he deserved more money. They gave him more money without a contract extension. Who wouldn’t want to sign me a contract extension? [When asked why he didn’t sign an extension] Because, right now, I am the #1 contender to the AEW World Title. If I win the title, what is more bargain power in the world than having the most important championship in your hands. So when January 1st 2024 rolls around, the Devil goes to the highest bidder.

We will have to wait and see whether MJF will end up winning the AEW World Title or not. Till then, fans will be waiting with bated breath regarding MJF’s future in the company.
