Earlier this year, MJF managed to cause pandemonium before Double Or Nothing after he no-showed the AEW fan fest event. That was just the beginning as the entire day was full of chaos and rumors after that.

Initially, it was believed that a flight was booked for him to go home, and this certainly worried fans who wanted to see him face Wardlow at Double Or Nothing. In fact, his Double Or Nothing status was up in the air.

In the end, he did show up and did the job for Wardlow. While speaking on the MMA Hour, MJF responded to the rumors that he had a plane ticket booked. While he didn’t confirm if he had a ticket or not, MJF did reveal what he did during his time away from AEW.

I cannot confirm or deny there being a plane ticket. I’m a businessman, I do what I have to do in order to ensure that whatever needs to be done, it gets done. When I went home, I made it clear to Tony Khan, I said ‘pay up or daddy won’t show up.’ I took my fiancee to Greece and Italy. I then went home and stayed at home for three solitary months, because the fans don’t deserve to see me unless they pay money.

AEW also has plans for MJF at Full Gear, which could see him challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title. We’ll have to see if MJF will eventually become the AEW World Champion or not.
