Triple H took over as WWE’s chief content officer and immediately put a spotlight on NXT. The Game brought back former NXT stars on the main roster as well. Tonight, NXT rose to a whole new level.

NXT North American Champion Solo Sikoa put his title on the line against Madcap Moss during SmackDown tonight. The last time an NXT title match was featured on the main roster was during the Raw after WrestleMania when Bron Breakker won the NXT Championship from Dolph Ziggler.

Solo Sikoa won the NXT North American Championship from Carmelo Hayes in an impromptu match at the one-year anniversary show of NXT 2.0. The newest Bloodline member pinned the A-Champ after hitting a huge splash from the top rope.

This week on SmackDown, Solo Sikoa was able to successfully defend his NXT North American Title. The Honorary Uce, Sami Zayn, caused a distraction and helped him pick up the win over Madcap Moss.

WWE bid farewell to NXT 2.0 this past Tuesday night as well. The NXT 2.0 logo got replaced with a white and gold logo. WWE changed up the arena for NXT tapings this week. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for NXT and its superstars.
