Elias had modest success on the main roster but the gimmick didn’t appeal to Vince McMahon, who repackaged The Drifter as Ezekiel and had him debut on the Raw after WrestleMania.
Ezekiel entered into a program with Kevin Owens, who insisted he was not Elias’ ‘younger brother.’ Triple H took over as WWE’s head booker and dropped the angle altogether. It seems that WWE is done with Ezekiel.
According to PW Insider, Ezekiel is no longer lister internally on the WWE roster and the character was replaced with Elias last week. Read the complete details below.
Ezekiel is no longer listed internally on the WWE’s roster, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
The character was replaced last week with his original persona, Ezekiel’s “older brother” Elias.
It would appear that, as many of you have suspected, that when the time comes, the Elias character will be returning to the Raw roster while Ezekiel, who was written out due to “injuries”, will fade into the darkness.
Ezekiel was involved in a storyline injury during a previous episode of Monday Night Raw. The injury took place after Ezekiel landed back-first on the apron, courtesy of a powerbomb by Kevin Owens.
Zeke was sent to a medical facility after the attack. Jimmy Smith announced that Zeke had sustained multiple injuries and will be out of action for a long time. Check out the video of the assault on Ezekiel below.
