TakeOver used to be the name for NXT premium live events from 2014 till 2021. WWE dropped the TakeOver series altogether following TakeOver 36. It looks like the company is going back to using the classic TakeOver destination for NXT premium live events.

Bryan Alvarez reported during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live that WWE is promoting the upcoming NXT Halloween Havoc special as NXT TakeOver. As previously noted, Halloween Havoc will take place on Saturday, October 22nd.

This comes after WWE bid adieu to NXT 2.0 last night. The one-year anniversary episode of NXT 2.0 capped off with the NXT 2.0 logo getting replaced with a new white and gold NXT logo. The company changed up the logo and the arena for future NXT tapings as well.

WWE are currently in the process of reimagining the entire NXT brand. The company had already disbanded NXT UK by merging all of the brand’s title at Worlds Collide premium live event on September 4, 2022. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for NXT.
