Gable Steveson’s amazing performance at the Tokyo Olympics last year significantly raised his stock. Since his huge success, he became one of the most in-demand athletes in the world.
After a lot of teases and speculation, WWE managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract last year. He was already drafted to Monday Night RAW as part of the WWE Draft last year.
Gable Steveson also got physical during WrestleMania 38 Night 2. He has also been training with Mr. Kennedy. While speaking on the Sunday Night’s Main Event TSN Radio show, Dave Meltzer noted that Steveson was going to be booked as the next Brock Lesnar.
It was [that] he was gonna be the new Brock Lesnar and they were going to send coaches to Minnesota [and] get a place in Minneapolis and during the wrestling season, they were gonna have him also train as a pro wrestler, which probably wasn’t a good idea to do both at the same time.
He hasn’t debuted and they wanted to debut him at WrestleMania and it didn’t happen. He was supposed to be fast-tracked to main events by now. Like come right out of college and win the NCAAs, which he did. And then go right to WWE top level and that didn’t happen.
As we exclusively reported, Triple H doesn’t plan on using Gable Steveson anymore. We’ll have to wait and see what will become of Steveson in the end.
