Roman Reigns has been on a history-making run in WWE as the Undisputed Universal Champion. The Tribal Chief has been infallible since returning to WWE back in 2020.
Roman Reigns officially reached 2 years as the WWE Universal Champion last week, and his stock continues to rise even now. At two years as champion, only time will tell what they have in store for him next.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the company plans on having Roman Reigns will be a multi-year champion.
Their long-term story may have made it impossible for [Drew McIntyre] to win [at Clash at the Castle]. I mean, for the night he should have won, but they’re telling long-term stories. They want Roman Reigns to be a multi, multi-year champion. If that’s their goal, then they didn’t want to screw up their goal. They certainly could have done it, but that’s their mentality.
Roman Reigns is also unlikely to drop his titles this year. Reigns’ next opponent will also not be an obvious choice. Roman Reigns is also not expected to wrestle at Extreme Rules, so it remains to be seen who he will end up facing next.
