Jim Ross is a veteran in the pro wrestling world, and he made a legendary name for himself as a commentator in WWE. He is now in AEW and is more than aware of how the company is compared to WWE.

At AEW All Out, CM Punk challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship. This was just before Punk lost to Jon Moxley in a squash match the previous week.

In the end, Punk managed to beat Moxley for the title. While speaking on the What Happened When podcast, Jim Ross made it clear he was not a fan of CM Punk winning the title.

“I don’t know how you have a match on Wednesday and your champion gets his ass whipped like a government mule, and then you expect to return it Sunday.

Why do I need to return? You just got your a** whipped. So there’s logical things that we have to address, quite frankly.”

CM Punk is out of action after undergoing surgery and it is unlikely he will be back anytime soon. A new champion will be crowned by the end of this month, so we’ll have to see who it will be.
