Update: Thunder Rosa’s husband has denied this report.
Original: AEW is a chaotic environment right now and many things are up in the air. People were suspended and some could be fired. It turns out that one top star also wanted out of the company.
During his Unleashed podcast, Brad Shepard had a lot to say about AEW. Some of it is too hot to publish, but what reported concerning Thunder Rosa was very interesting. She apparently asked for her AEW release, but that was not granted.
“You’ve got the incident with Thunder Rusa, and frankly the insults and attacks and the company burying her. Why would the company busy their top champions like they did with Thunder Rosa? She doesn’t get time with Tony Schiavone to get her over. You’ve got Britt Baker and Toni Storm — you’ve got Toni Storm going out there in the media scrum joking about her allegedly being injured, and you’ve got Tony Khan smirking the entire time. So what’s going on with Thunder Rosa, because there’s more than meets the eye here.”
“Here’s what I can tell you, is that Thunder Rosa requested her release after the Marina Shafir match. She didn’t get that. She wanted time off, but since that time she has not requested her release again. She asked for her release because of the mismanagement and bullsh*t. That’s a fact. Now, where is she? Have they worked things out? It doesn’t seem like it.”
We’ll have to see what’s next for Thunder Rosa, but she is still with AEW. There are obviously a lot of problems right now in Tony Khan’s company, but he is doing what he can to fix things in his own unique way.
