Malakai debuted in AEW last year and destroyed Cody Rhodes in his first feud. He was the leader of the House Of Black alongside Brody King and Buddy Matthews and remains a mainstay of AEW television. He is also likely to take a permanent break from pro wrestling.

During the media scrum for All Out, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the possibility of Black leaving after The House of Black lost to Darby Allin, Sting, and Miro followed by the trio hugging at the top of the stage. Black then kissed the crowd goodbye and bowed before leaving.

According to PW Insider, Black is believed to be taking time away from wrestling. Black was scheduled to face Impact World Tag Team Champion Matt Taven at the NEW event in Niles, OH this coming Friday, but Black has pulled himself from the booking.

It was further added that Black is no longer listed on the official AEW website roster page. The other House of Black members are still listed. It was reported that Black has been dealing with a personal situation that were weighing heavily on him, and that he’s privately talked about taking a long and possibly permanent break from the business in order to deal with the issues.
