MJF was dropped from AEW programming after his profanity-filled pipe bomb during a previous episode of Dynamite. The Salt of the Earth was gone for three months after that.
At AEW All Out, CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley to become a 2-time AEW World Champion. Right after that, MJF came out and confronted Punk. Unfortunately, that was not the biggest story of the night.
During the post-AEW All Out media scrum, CM Punk went ballistic on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks as he completely buried them all. Punk and Ace Steel were involved in a brawl with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. Ringside News exclusively reported the details about how this act divided the AEW locker room.
According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, the AEW locker room is sympathizing with MJF after the whole CM Punk ordeal.
There is some sympathy as it relates to MJF’s return for some, but everyone was generally left in the dark regarding MJF’s status for months and said it mirrored that of Punk winning the title in Vegas, and Wardlow beating him, but everyone speaking about MJF. Those we spoke to had not heard of any heat between MJF and Punk prior to Punk basically mentioning MJF as one of the stubborn kids he had to work with.
CM Punk’s altercation following AEW All Out has also become a legal issue. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story right here at Ringside News.
