Tony Khan became the owner of Ring of Honor this year after he brought AEW to the world of pro wrestling. ROH’s programming future still looms in uncertainty as fans wonder what this means for the promotion’s future.
ROH fans would be relieved to hear that the AEW President has confirmed that he is working on securing a deal for the promotion. Recently, while speaking to Wrestling Observer Radio, Khan provided an update on the status of ROH’s TV show.
“I don’t have anything to announce. It’s something we’re still working on and actively excited about. And where that could live and where it might live, I don’t know yet.”
Names such as Colt Cabana are involved in the re-launch of the promotion. The Boys and The Briscoes were also brought in. Khan also confirmed in a conference call that he is working on bringing back ROH on a weekly basis. He also added while speaking to Observer Radio that the company is going to put out more PPV events until a TV deal is inked.
“The Ring of Honor pay-per-views will be continuing and I am really excited to keep doing what I think have been some of the best Ring of Honor pay-per-views ever.”
Owning both ROH and AEW would mean that there would be collaborations between the two promotions. Khan recently said that the champions of both promotions will have to work harder to represent the companies and defend their titles. We will have to see what Tony Khan’s plans are, but he has a lot on his plate right now.
