Liv Morgan continued to improve in the ring ever since winning the WWE Smackdown’s Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank via cash-in. After her huge title defense at WWE Clash at the Castle, she cried and had a good reason to do so.

In a new interview with BT Sport, Morgan was asked why she cried after the title match against Shanya Blazer at Clash at the Castle. She revealed that the intensity and atmosphere of the event also touched her emotionally.

“That was probably the hardest match of my whole entire life,” said Morgan. “Shayna hit so damn hard, she brought her A-game. So I was just happy and emotional just to keep this (championship). And also, just have the opportunity. The crowd, the electricity, it felt so momentous that it just touched me.” (1:32-1:52)

Morgan’s initial crowd responses after winning the title and defending it were controversial at first, but recently she’s been getting more of the WWE Universe on her side. It’s all about being booked properly first.

Liv had a great Saturday night in retaining the title but more defenses will come her way. With Smackdown reloading on talent recently, there will be plenty of challengers coming her way.
