Leon Ruff & Aja Smith Get Married

Leon Ruffin is best known for his time in WWE where he performed under the ring name Leon Ruff. He was a one-time NXT North American Champion. Ruff and WWE referee Daphanie LaShaunn, also known as Aja Perera, recently announced their September 4th wedding.

The newly married couple previously announced their engagement news on November 2020. After their ceremony, LaShaunn posted a picture of them together on Twitter. She expressed her joy of marrying her soulmate in the rain.

I married my soulmate in the rain today. The best night of my life. I’m a whole wife, y’all!!!!!

LaShaunn is the main roster’s referee. As a result of his success in EVOLVE, Leon joined WWE in 2019. His most notable victory was when Ruff defeated Johnny Gargano and retained the NXT North American Championship for 25 days.

Prior to being released in August 2021, Ruff lost the championship to Gargano in a triple threat match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames in 2020. Ruffin has appeared on AEW programs since May and is actively active in the indie music industry. Big congratulations to the happy couple!
