Colt Cabana had not been seen on AEW programming for quite some time now. This is the case for both Dynamite and Dark episodes. Fans have been wondering the reason behind his absence as well.

It was previously reported that Cabana was expected to be cut before several members of the rosters spoke up against it. This was said to be due to his bitter relationship with CM Punk. Numerous talent “went to bat” for Cabana, as he is well-liked backstage.

Even last month, CM Punk cut a shoot promo on Adam Page, which made him have backstage heat in AEW. It was believed that Cabana’s status is the source of a lot of breaking points in AEW.

Fans have speculated that Punk was responsible for Cabana’s move to ROH. While speaking to Forbes, Tony Khan denied that CM Punk was responsible for Cabana moving to ROH.

“There was a misconception that was perpetuated unfairly that CM Punk had anything to do with me wanting to move Colt Cabana to the Ring of Honor roster.”

CM Punk even roasted a fan who made Colt Cabana chants on AEW Dynamite this week. Regardless, it is unlikely the situation between CM Punk and Cabana will improve anytime soon.
