Thunder Rosa relinquished her AEW Women’s Championship due to injury and that left fans shocked. Tony Khan booked a fatal-four title match for All Out to determine the new Women’s World Champion. Thunder Rosa revealed she couldn’t even move due to the injury, but many within the industry think there’s more to that than meets the eye.
Former WCW wreslter Konnan talked about the Thunder Rosa situation during the latest episode of “Keepin’ It 100” podcast. Konnan claimed Rosa is giving out conflicting stories about her injury and that AEW sat her out because of backstage issues with fellow AEW stars Dr. Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter.
“I actually asked her. I said, ‘Yo, why would you tell me that it’s your knee when it’s your back?’ She said, ‘Oh, I thought I told you it was my back.’ I go, ‘No, you told me it was your fu**king knee. Why would you say that?’ It’s either your knee or your back. There is no confusing it.’
“That’s like me telling you, ‘Yea, I’m not going to show up because I have an eye infection’, and then I go, ‘No, what I really meant is my knee.’ The conspiracy guy in me felt like maybe, and I can be absolutely wrong, that maybe for having problems backstage, they sat her down and said, ‘Say you’re injured.’ But, she can also be injured.”
Thunder Rosa was accused of berating AEW extras as well. The former AEW Women’s Champion reportedly has a lot of heat with the rest of the women’s locker room. Tony Khan also thinks Thunder Rosa’s promo won’t draw TV ratings. Keep reading Ringside News for more.
