Drew McIntyre remains one of the top Superstars in WWE and certainly has a lot of passion for the pro wrestling business. He is a former two-time WWE Champion and was the face of the company during the pandemic era as the WWE Champion.
Back in the 2020 Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre went on to win the match as he toppled a dominant Brock Lesnar and booked his ticket to WrestleMania 36. McIntyre would go on to defeat Lesnar for the WWE Championship.
While speaking interview with The Independent, Drew McIntyre reflected on the match and beating Brock Lesnar in the main event to win his first WWE Championship.
“It was wild. Watching with the rest of the world on the couch with my wife, two cats and some popcorn, with my family on FaceTime in Scotland. My favourite part of it all, as the referee presented me with the title, [my wife] Kaitlyn presented me with the title [at home]. It was pretty cool.
It was my lifelong goal, to main event WrestleMania and win the title. It was similar but completely different [to winning the Royal Rumble]. The quiet warehouse with Brock Lesnar, winning the match, nobody making the sounds as you get that three count.”
The Scottish Warrior is set to face off against Roman Reigns at WWE Clash At The Castle on September 3rd, where both of Reigns’ titles will be on the line. We’ll have to see who will win in the end.
