Chris Benoit was one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He made his mark all over the world in various pro wrestling companies. Randy Orton also had a very strong reaction to the news of Benoit’s death.
The June 25th, 2007, episode of Monday RAW was dedicated to Benoit after news of his passing emerged. The next day, it was discovered that Benoit had killed his wife Nancy and son Daniel before committing suicide.
While speaking on the “Cheap Heat Productions Podcast,” former WWE star Rory McAllister recalled how Randy Orton reacted when details regarding Benoit’s death came to be known.
“Randy goes for coffee and he comes walking back and every screen in the center of the hub of the airport, ‘Murder suicide, murder suicide.’ Dude, Randy just lost his s**t. He literally just lost his s**t and f**king ran out the airport. He was home anyway.
Benoit’s legacy will forever be sullied due to his actions, which many people deem unforgivable. Regardless, his death brought about a lot of changes in WWE that remain intact to this day.
