Nancy Benoit has consistently been at the top of Mick Foley’s list of people who should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. WWE wrestler Chris Benoit killed her and her son Daniel in late June 2007 before killing himself. The tragic event rocked the wrestling community.
Nancy had made a career for herself as a valet in professional wrestling before she married Chris Benoit, most famously as Woman in WCW. Foley discussed her legacy as a performer in the industry on the most recent edition of “Foley Is Pod.” He said that Nancy getting inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame is definitely going to happen sometime in the future.
The three different runs she’s had, she’s really deserving of more recognition. The holy grail is the WWE Hall of Fame. I think eventually it’s going to happen, I don’t know if it’s going to happen in the next few years though.
I think you want to give those a few years you know? It’s tough when you induct someone posthumously and the deaths are not by natural causes. I think you gotta space them out a little bit.
Nancy was a prominent member of her ex-husband Kevin Sullivan’s “Satanists” group in addition to being a woman. This began when she competed in Florida Championship Wrestling and continued into WCW and ECW.
Foley expressed how thrilled he was to have Chyna admitted with D-Generation X in 2019, but he acknowledged that the two separate tragedies that took place made for awkward optics. A drug overdose that was unintentional claimed the life of Laurer in 2016. Let’s see if Nancy Benoit gets inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.
