AEW’s Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti were recently married after a short dating period. However, it wasn’t so far long ago that Guevara proposed to someone else. He proposed to then girlfriend Pam Nizio before an episode of AEW Dynamite, but one year later he is married to someone else.

Some fans started to turn on Conti and Guevara, as many speculations pointed toward Sammy having an affair on Nizio with Conti. On a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Conti felt the need to clear the air on her exact feelings regarding the matter.

“I know who I am, and I know I did nothing wrong… People just talking sh*t.”

The “Spanish God”, Guevara, and Conti started their relationship just a short time after his public break up with Nizio. The two were quickly engaged in Paris at the Eiffel Tower on June 3rd, earlier this year.

Tay also expressed the toll all the negative backlash and criticism caused her. She was having one of the best years in the wrestling business in 2021.

“At the end of 2021, there was all that drama with me and Sammy. I was super upset because that was the best year of my career.”

Conti went on to tell more about her feelings toward Nizio in particular. She mentioned that any time Sammy and her had spoken about Pam, Sammy had nothing but love and respect for her.

Conti also stated that after the backlash had occurred, Nizio was one of the first to reach out to the couple. She went on in more detail about this.

“After the whole [social media] drama, she was the one that text us, to check on us,”

The newlyweds currently also wrestle in AAA, where they are the World Mixed Tag Champions. Conti and Guevara, the two members of Jericho Appreciation Society, have been with AEW since August 2020 and February 2019 respectively.
