Iyo Sky Considered Returning To Japan Before WWE SummerSlam Return

Iyo Sky became one of the highlights of NXT’s women’s division over the years. She is a former NXT Women’s Champion and has been part of several top-notch feuds in the company. Now that she’s on the main roster, things are looking bright with Triple H in charge, but it was almost a very different story.

Sky was out of action with an injury. In fact, she suffered the injury during NXT Stand & Deliver earlier this year. It was believed that Sky was going to leave WWE as well.

However, Iyo Sky made her return at SummerSlam alongside Bayley and Dakota Kai. While speaking on WWE After The Bell, Iyo Sky was asked if she considered returning to Japan before eventually making her return. She confirmed that she did consider returning to Japan.

“Yeah. I’ve been here four years. I came here by myself. I don’t have family here and that time is so tough. I tried to think, should I stay here more or not. I got injured and after surgery, that time was thinking about my life again.”

Sky is currently partnering with Kai in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title tournament. They are set to compete in the finals of the tournament after defeating Alexa Bliss & Asuka in semifinals.
