Colt Cabana has been out of action since the March 8 episode of “AEW Dark.” During that time, a lot of rumors have circulated as to why he has not been in the ring. His long-standing conflicts with CM Punk were a significant contributing element.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there are those in the know who think Punk is to blame for Cabana’s departure from The Dark Order and from AEW television in general. That hasn’t been verified as fact, of course, and Punk’s crew apparently told folks that this isn’t the case.

It was noted that Colt Cabana is in ROH, but it doesn’t look like he’s appearing for AEW right now. This seems to be a trend that isn’t likely to change, and the belief is that CM Punk is the cause of this.

Tony Khan conducted a mandatory talent meeting yesterday before AEW Dynamite. They discussed certain previously reported behind-the-scenes corporate difficulties. However, the predicament with Punk and Cabana was not brought up.

The former member of the Dark Order has transferred to the Ring Of Honor roster, which Khan now owns, and is reportedly earning the same amount of money that he did while an AEW member. Along with Evil Uno, Cabana participated in AEW’s attendance at Gamescom 2022 this week to promote the upcoming video game, although it is currently unknown if he will continue to wrestle for the company.

Tension between the former AEW World Champion and “Hangman” Adam Page is said to have been exacerbated by the interaction between Punk and Cabana and how the latter was treated. Stay tuned to Ringside News for latest news and updates.
