WWE released over a hundred members of staff on April 15th 2020, making it the biggest mass exodus in the company’s history. Veteran referee Mike Chioda was one of them, and he was really affected by the release.

Following his release, Mike Chioda worked for AEW as he made a couple of appearances in the past, but never signed a permanent deal with the company. He is still a free agent, watching the pro wrestling landscape change around him.

Triple H was made the Creative head of WWE and he has already started bringing back previously released talent. While speaking on the latest “Monday Mailbag with Mike Chioda” on AdFreeShows.com, Mike Chioda made it clear he isn’t sure about making a return to WWE.

”I don’t know. I know Vince probably let it go, but I don’t know if Vince was the one that picked my name out of a hat during the pandemic and said, ‘We have to cut Mike Chioda, g*ddamnit.’

He also said, ”You never know” regarding a possible return now that Paul “Triple H” Levesque has risen to power, while also admitting, “I really don’t care, it was a great run.” We’ll have to see if Chioda will ever be back or not.
