In January 2022, WWE Hall of Fame inductee Road Dogg was released from the company. This was done at a time when NXT ‘Black and Gold’ was being all but demolished. Now it is a much different time in WWE.

Since WWE has been taken over by Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, and Triple H, a lot of speculation has been around about the possibility of Road Dogg rejoining the company. It has now been confirmed by PW Insider that he has joined the company once again.

Recently, James suggested that he work for Tony Khan. In fact, he claimed that he had been begging Khan for a job and demanded to know why he wasn’t being hired by AEW.

James was the first of many of Triple H’s ‘inner circle’ of friends to be let go by the WWE during their releases at the beginning of the year. It also should be noted that James is very close to recently released WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett.

It remains to be seen what role James holds in the WWE. His actual title nor his start date have been confirmed. It is to be suspected that he will work closely with Triple H in talent and production roles.
