Nick Gage is a well-known performer on the independent circuit. Gage made a name for himself by competing in extremely-violent matches. He is a top star in Game Changer Wrestling, but his deathmatch in AEW against Chris Jericho caused AEW to lose a sponsor.

Gage got the chance to introduce himself to AEW fans when he competed against Chris Jericho in a No Rules Match at Fight For The Fallen special on July 28, 2021. The match was all sorts of brutal and involved the use of foreign objects, including a pizza cutter.

At one point during the match, Gage sliced Jericho’s forehead with a pizza cutter. The spot was followed by a Domino’s commercial that generated tons of reaction from the pizza chain itself as well as the internet wrestling community.

Nick Gage recently appeared on Rewind Recap Relive to talk about the match with Jericho. He also recalled meeting Tony Khan after the match and what the AEW head honcho had to say about the ironic advert.

“After the match [with Jericho], Tony Khan got out of his chair and … went around and high-fived me and gave me a hug and thanked me.”

Gage said Khan vehemently insisted that nobody say anything about the Domino’s Pizza commercial, which the GCW star initially agreed to. Check out the highlights of the match below.
