Vince McMahon was the CEO of WWE for several years and shaped the company in his vision. Everything that went on in the company went through him, especially the scripts.
The former Chairman stepped down and retired from WWE after a lot of scandals finally caught up with him. Triple H was then made the Creative head of the company.
McMahon had a reputation for tearing up scripts that the writers put together hours before the shows and writing up an entire show on the day that the show was happening.
While speaking to WrestlingInc, Brian Gewirtz cleared the air about Vince McMahon tearing scripts and changing the show at the very last minute.
“No script was ever ripped in my presence when I was there. I remember in 2012 when I was able to take a part-time job with WWE, the process was far less dramatic than what some reports would have you believe… Ideally when it comes to SmackDown on Fridays and RAW on Mondays, some version of the script and hopefully one that remains intact is done before you show up to the arena.”
Vince McMahon also complained about small typos in rough drafts. Triple H is now in charge, and fans couldn’t be happier about that fact. We’ll have to see what other changes will take place in the coming weeks.
