CM Punk found himself in even more controversy after he improvised a shot at Hangman Page this week on Dynamite. That led to a brawl with Jon Moxley, and it seemed that Tony Khan jumped the gun on holding that title unification match next week. There is a lot more to the story.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that, despite their match next week on AEW Dynamite, the All Out pay-per-view is still slated to see CM Punk vs Jon Moxley. It was noted that this is “not 100%,” but it is also being talked about as the big match in Chicago.
Currently the 9/4 All Out PPV has C.M. Punk vs. Jon Moxley for both belts (this is not announced and not 100 percent but it is being talked about as the current plan and there doesn’t appear to be a backup plan ).
We previously reported that CM Punk has a bit of backstage heat after calling out Hangman Page. This situation is a very complicate one, and we are still hearing new tidbits of information to provide more clarity.
AEW has 2 1/2 weeks to build that next big event. The show is sold out, so they don’t really have to worry about moving tickets. They do, however, need to spark a fan interest for those who would be willing to buy their next pay-per-view offering.
We will have to see how things pan out, but this situation is far from finished. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
