Gunther used to be known as WALTER during his NXT UK days and had a dominant run as the NXT UK Champion, holding the NXT UK Title for a record 870 days. He lost the title to Ilja Dragunov at NXT TakeOver 36. He also locked down a trademark recently.
Gunther finally made his way to the US as part of the NXT roster as well. Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser made their main roster debut on Friday Night Smackdown earlier this year and have been staples of the blue brand since then.
On August 13th, Gunther filed to trademark “Ring General” for merchandise and entertainment purposes. Clearly, he is thinking long-term with this move.
