As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, CM Punk kicked off the show with a promo. He addressed Adam Page and issued a rematch to him for the title. However, Page never showed up, and CM Punk dubbed the entire thing as ‘less important.’
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Punk’s promo on Page. Meltzer revealed that it was not part of the plan and believed it has to do with some real-life beef between the two.
”If you’re wondering about the CM Punk thing at the start of the show with Adam Page – That was weird. For every one, as in, nobody knew he was going to do that. If you remember months ago when they were feuding and I said there’s a lot of reality to it, well, there’s a lot of reality to it. I don’t know what the deal was and nobody else does either.”
CM Punk is set to face off against Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite next week in a title unification match. That match will happen next week on AEW Dynamite in Cleveland rather than at All Out. We will have to wait and see whether Punk will end up winning the match.
