Claudio Castagnoli’s Next Challenger For ROH World Title Revealed

Claudio Castagnoli left WWE and decided to make his own way. That path saw him arrive in AEW where he soon became the world champion of ROH. Now we know who he is facing next.

Dustin Rhodes has a lot to celebrate these days. “The Natural” has had a major career revival since joining AEW. Dustin Rhodes is now set to challenge ROH Champion Claudio Castagnoli.

On the most recent episode of AEW Rampage, Wheeler Yuta and ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli entered the arena. Ricky Steamboat, who was seated in the front row, got a shout-out from him. He offered an open challenge for the show the following week.

In order to accept the challenge, Dustin Rhodes emerged. According to PW Insider, Dustin will challenge the ROH Champion on the August 26 edition of AEW Rampage.

Rhodes’ substance abuse problems in the past have been well documented. Many became familiar with Dustin’s issues when his behavior on “The Plane Ride from Hell” was exposed to a national audience via “Dark Side of the Ring.” Those days are long in the past for Dustin Rhodes.
