CM Punk made his debut last year at AEW Rampage: The First Dance and since then, he has become one of the mainstays of AEW programming. He had a solid run in AEW for the most part as well. Jim Cornette also blasted Tony Khan for a good reason.

As seen on a previous episode of AEW Rampage, CM Punk revealed that he is injured. This shocked fans, as they believed another Summer Of Punk was going to happen.

Punk eventually underwent surgery for the injury as well. In the meantime, Jon Moxley became the interim AEW World Champion and has successfully defended his title a few times already.

While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Jim Cornette blasted AEW President Tony Khan for putting the interim AEW World Title on Jon Moxley.

“Once Tony had made that decision, to create an Interim Champion, and not to strip Punk, then obviously not only any genius, but anybody that just knows anything would have said, ‘Okay, the Interim Champion needs to be the strongest heel I’ve got with a big mouth.’ Because that Interim Champion needs to win that Interim Title and he needs to crow about it and he needs to get some wins every week against the majority of my roster, we got to keep him strong.”

There is also a possible good sign that CM Punk is recovering from his injury. We will have to wait and see whether Punk will be able to make it back in time for AEW All Out.
