John Laurinaitis is gone from the WWE for good. While the former Head of Talent Relations was caught within the trap alongside Vince McMahon, it seemed that his departure was imminent.
Sean Sapp, behind Fightful’s paywall, has confirmed the report coming from PW Insider that Laurinaitis has indeed been let go by the company. Despite being let go, he was still receiving company emails.
Triple H’s transition to power temporarily changed that, though he made his way back into the fold again. While Vince McMahon retired, Laurinaitis’ position went to Head of Talent Relations. His status was previously unknown, as he had been put on administrative leave.
Laurinaitis wasn’t receiving any emails around the July 22nd episode of SmackDown. However, he was again on the lists the following week and had access to potentially “sensitive information pertaining to creative, and personnel.” Laurinaitis was also present on a WWE internal terminal list, along with Vince McMahon.
The WWE roster and staff were of the opinion that Laurinaitis was as good as gone from the company, and even referred to him as a snake. It is usual among those who recently go through a termination in the company to stay on email lists. It’s also entirely possible that his email address was not even active.
