Vince McMahon made headlines in June after it was revealed that he secretly paid $3 million as a settlement to a departing paralegal. This opened up a can of worms as McMahon was under investigation, and he had to retire. His ideology also upset a lot of people in WWE.
It was later revealed that McMahon also paid $12 million in hush money to several women over the last twenty years. This was the last straw for many people, ultimately leading to McMahon’s downfall.
Mr. McMahon’s ideas for pro wrestling have been criticized for several years. While speaking on Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell claimed that McMahon’s ideology upset many people in WWE.
”A stigma about it, that’s what he was trying to avoid, but after a while, to stick to that ideology. I don’t think it worked, I think it actually made people… kind of pissed them off a little bit.”
Vince McMahon also never explained why he banned certain words in WWE. WWE is clearly in good hands now that Triple H is the head of Creative. We’ll have to see how the company will change in the coming months.
