AEW strives to be an alternative to the product that WWE has been putting out for decades. The company has certainly made its mark in the pro wrestling industry, but that landscape is always changing.

Vince McMahon retired and Triple H was appointed as the Head Of WWE Creative. This was seen as a huge positive for the company as well.

While speaking with SportsGrid, AEW President Tony Khan stated that WWE’s change in competition isn’t a bad thing. In the end, TK will be competing against another person’s show, and that’s not really a bad thing.

“It’s going to change the competition, but I think that’s a good thing. AEW’s got a big fan base. We’re on in 130 countries now around the world, and here in the US, we’ve built a great fanbase … And the competition is going to change. It’s a different person in the chair, opposite me, but I don’t think that’s going to be a bad thing for the wrestling fan necessarily.

We will have to wait and see whether there will come a time when AEW is seen as a legitimate competitor to WWE. Obviously, they have plenty of fans who would like to believe that right now. While it is unlikely, anything could happen in the pro wrestling world.
