Dakota Kai returned to WWE at this year’s SummerSlam event, and she was also joined by Bayley & Io Shirai. WWE’s Head of Creative Triple H recently made a statement by unveiling the new faction. Dakota Kai recently revealed that her WWE return happened at the last minute.
After the opening match, in which Becky Lynch was defeated by Bianca Belair and the Raw Women’s Title was successfully retained, they all came back. This faction was proposed quite some time before Dakota’s debut, as was previously mentioned, but Vince McMahon, who was still in charge of creative, rejected the notion. Raquel Rodriguez and Kay Lee Ray were two further factions that were proposed.
Kai spent six years working for WWE before being let go back in April. Kai informed the management at the time that she had no intention of renewing her contract and that she intended to leave the company. Kai discussed her return on today’s episode of WWE’s The Bump and mentioned that everything happened at the last second.
You thought you’d seen the last of me, huh? It still feels like a whirlwind to me with everything that happened. It all happened so last minute too. To be talking with you guys right now is exciting. Everything that has happened since Saturday has been insane, it’s been crazy.
Kai continued by saying that she had wanted to work with Bayley and Sky for a long time. It’s still a mystery when Kai agreed to return to the company. Check out the tweet below.
