WWE recently announced that Ronda Rousey would be fined and suspended for her actions at SummerSlam. After losing to Liv Morgan in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match, Ronda attacked the referee. WWE did not disclose the length of the storyline punishment.
Rousey is not expected to miss too much time. She is booked for the Clash at the Castle premium live event scheduled for September 4. If plans hold, Ronda Rousey’s suspension should be over before then.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the timeframe for Rousey’s return. It should only be for a month or less. Ronda Rousey is expected to return before the huge stadium event in Cardiff.
“Not that long. I mean, she’s booked on the Cardiff show, so she’s going to be unsuspended at least before – I think she’ll be out for I don’t know how long, but it’s not going to be a month, put it that way because she’s got to be back for the pay-per-view show.”
Ronda Rousey will likely be fuming upon her return. Her frustration after losing to Liv Morgan again was a major part of the storyline. It will be interesting to see who she takes her anger out on when she comes back.
Fans who are missing Ronda already won’t have to wait long. By the time Clash at the Castle rolls around, she should be back in the swing of things. That could be bad news for any woman who decides to get in her way.
