Jon Moxley won the AEW Championship from Chris Jericho during the early storylines of the Jacksonville-based promotion. Mox proudly wore the strap until he lost it to Kenny Omega, who dropped it to Adam Page. Now Mox is once again holding the gold.
Mox became the AEW Interim World Champion after beating Hiroshi Tanahashi at Forbidden Door on June 26th. His first title defense came against Brody Lee of The House of Black on the first Wednesday of July.
AEW announced that Mox will be on Dynamite this week to share his thoughts on the Wheeler Yuta versus Chris Jericho match. The winner will challenge Mox for his title at Quake by the Lake special next week.
